Completely new sounds with "Jamulus"
As the saying goes - "Necessity is the mother of invention". Due to the Corona pandemic, we have not only taken this to heart with our online rehearsals via Skype or Zoom, but have also tried out a completely new type of online choir rehearsal - The "Jamulus" software. Everyone logs into this software, connects headphones and a microphone to your computer, and you can hear the choir director and the other singers without delay. After short initial difficulties, each participant has found the perfect setting and the choir rehearsal can start. It takes some getting used to that you cannot see the choirmaster conducting (as only audio transmission is possible). However, this leads to the fact that one has to listen very much to the other singers in order not to get out of the rhythm. We all agree that we would like to continue to use this type of choir rehearsal after the pandemic, since the choir rehearsals are much more intensive and the choir director can also hear and correct individual voices much more easily.
We would be very happy if we have aroused your interest with this, and to welcome you soon in our next Jamulus rehearsal. If you would like to participate, contact us at info@saengerkranz1876.de.

Finally live choir music in the Volkshalle again
"Man(n) singt deutsch und... 13" - The wait was worth it
Last Sunday at 4:00 p.m. the time had finally come - the "Sängerkranz" singers opened our long-awaited, thirteenth "Man(n) singt deutsch und..." concert with the sung words "This is the Lord's day". At this point at the latest, goose bumps could no longer be avoided.
At first, the concert was on shaky ground, as the choirs from Horbach unfortunately had to cancel. Nevertheless, we were in good spirits and spontaneously added three more songs to the remaining concert programme. Our choirmaster Peter Schmitt also provided another goosebump moment with a solo performance on the grand piano.
A big thank you also goes to our guest choirs from "Concordia Liederkranz" from Ettingshausen, who more than enriched our choir concert with their song contributions. We were very happy about your participation - the preparation time for the concert was rather short and arduous due to Corona with online rehearsals and very few presence choir rehearsals.
If you want to know a bit more about our concert, you can open the following link to the Gießener-Allgemeine Zeitung: www.giessener-allgemeine.de/kreis-giessen/pohlheim-ort848776/mit-musik-durch-eine-schwere-zeit-91103485.html
